Suardi S.p.A. was founded in 1963 in Predore, on Lake Iseo, by Alessio Suardi. Over sixty years we have grown from a small family business into a leading player in infrastructure and construction, in Italy and internationally.
From our early transport operations to major public and private works, we have broadened our expertise and fields of activity — roads, motorways, building, excavation, remediation and complex works — while keeping people, quality of work, responsibility and a forward-looking vision at the heart of what we do.
Today we are the third generation of a family that designs, builds and delivers: turnkey contracts, site management always on the front line, and on-time delivery as a non-negotiable standard.

Inspired by the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in 2016 the company launched an action programme that integrates ESG principles into its operating model, strengthening its economic and reputational competitiveness. Today this commitment takes shape in the non-hazardous waste recovery and disposal plant in Castelli Calepio, covering around 25,000 m² and equipped with dust containment systems, stormwater management and environmental mitigation measures.
The site applies End of Waste principles, turning construction waste and remediated soils into new raw material that goes back into the building cycle, through the aggregate crushing and screening line, the soil washing line and the cement-bound mixture plant. The benefits are clear: less waste in the environment, lower consumption of natural resources and a more productive territory.
Aware that we work in a sector with a delicate impact on the environment, for years we have built the circular economy and low-impact technologies into every project. Our plant in Castelli Calepio (BG) and our participation in EcoAsfalti are at the heart of our 2030 Agenda programme.

Our approach is rooted in the will to grow sustainably, adopting recognised management systems, keeping constantly up to date with regulations and introducing innovative tools to protect workers, the community and the environment.
Since 2012 the Company has adopted an Integrated Quality, Environment and Safety Management System, applying the standards UNI EN ISO 9001 (Quality management systems), UNI EN ISO 14001 (Environmental management systems) and BS OHSAS 18001 (Occupational health and safety management systems).
The aim is to ensure optimal performance in terms of process and service quality, environmental protection and the health and safety of workers, creating a solid, structured foundation for responsible and continuous development.
Over the years this vision has guided a series of strategic choices that have led the Company to constantly expand and strengthen its management system, integrating new certifications, keeping pace with regulatory developments and introducing innovative tools for social responsibility, welfare and sustainability.
In 2018 the Company implemented and adopted an Organisation, Management and Control Model compliant with Legislative Decree 231/2001 and, in the same year, introduced a Social Accountability Management System compliant with SA 8000, a certification that received official SAI accreditation in October 2022.
Since 2019, aware of the importance of employee satisfaction, well-being and work-life balance, SUARDI S.P.A. has implemented a Corporate Welfare Plan, adopting innovative policies and tools to support its people and their families.
In September 2020 the Management System was further developed with UNI EN ISO 39001 certification (Road traffic safety) and the transition from BS OHSAS 18001 to UNI EN ISO 45001, in line with the Company’s commitment to remain constantly aligned with regulatory developments.
In October 2022 the Company strengthened its control system with UNI EN ISO 37001 certification (Anti-bribery management systems), followed in November 2022 by UNI EN ISO 50001 certification (Energy management systems), confirming a growing focus on energy efficiency and savings.
Since March 2023 the Company has adopted a system compliant with the UNI/PdR 125 reference practice, designed to ensure gender equality, equity and inclusion within the organisation.
In November 2025 the Company took a further environmental step by obtaining a Statement of conformity with UNI EN ISO 14064, certifying the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for 2024.
The entire Integrated Management System is accredited through ACCREDIA, the sole national accreditation body designated by the Italian Government.
Suardi S.p.A. also holds SOA certification, which allows it to bid for major public works by meeting all the required technical and financial criteria. The Company’s steady growth allows the categories of its certification to be regularly updated and extended.
