Suardi for a
greener future.
Long committed to environmental and social responsibility, we adopt working methods and organisational models that reduce CO₂ emissions and energy and water consumption, guided by the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Castelli Calepio aggregate processing plant.
Environmental innovation serving the circular economy.
In 2016 we began the permitting process to build an aggregate processing plant in Castelli Calepio, a strategic hub for collecting construction and excavation waste from central-northern and north-eastern Italy.
We did not stop at recovery: guided by the principles of the circular economy, we conceived an entire production cycle that cuts the waste of resources and materials and regenerates waste material into a product that can be reused in construction.
Reduce, recycle, reuse
Operational since 2024, the plant applies the 3R principles through advanced technology for treating materials from quarries and worksites: we recycle waste that would otherwise never be reused, regenerate it into a new, reusable resource, and in doing so reduce both waste and land consumption.
From waste to raw material
Covering some 25,000 m² and equipped with dust containment, stormwater management and environmental mitigation systems, the site applies End of Waste principles: construction-sector waste and remediated soils become new raw material for building, thanks to the aggregate crushing and screening line, the soil washing line and the cement-bound mixture production plant.
The plant in motion.
The plant’s goals.
-
06
Clean water
100% of the rain falling on the plant is reused, collected in tanks sized for reuse in on-site operations.
-
07
Clean energy
Photovoltaic panels make a significant energy contribution to the processing of waste materials.
-
09
Innovation and infrastructure
Among the first plants in Italy to meet one of the country’s most demanding goals in terms of feasibility and investment.
-
11
Sustainable cities and communities
Dust is suppressed with harvested rainwater during the processing, handling and storage of materials.
-
12
Responsible consumption
Everything that comes in must go out: waste materials remain at the plant only temporarily.

Incoming waste
The waste fractions from the treatment cycle, managed in compliance with regulations.
Resulting products
Recycled aggregates ready to re-enter the construction cycle, in line with End of Waste principles.
